A collection of recipes
Nana Kellman (Margaret 'Peggy' Kellman) loved cooking and enjoyed discovering new recipes.
In addition to writing her own recipes, she collected many more and stored them in a 2-drawer card index.
Any old scrap of card would do if she was unable to get hold of a "proper" index card and explains
why odd bits of Birthday and Christmas cards appear in the index with recipes pasted or glued on top.
All of the original cards have been scanned and can be viewed on this site. The collection consists of
more than 1200 recipes with 281 handwritten. There are
62 categories and the original ordering and categorisation from the index has been maintained.
The initial release of Nana's Recipes allows the user to browse all the scanned recipes. Subsequent releases
will explore ways to digitize the content further to enable searching by ingredient(s) and possibly allow
users to add their own recipes. Suggestions and enhancements for the site are welcomed but their implementation
cannot be guaranteed.
